How we Recruit

Whatever role we are recruiting for at Bromford Group our people are unique and the way we select our colleagues is unique as well.

When recruiting for new front line colleagues we recruit primarily based on behaviour and attitude not past working experience. This means we welcome applicants from different backgrounds to join our growing team and make a real difference.

If short-listed you will be invited to take part in a simulation called Open House where you and your fellow applicants will become honorary colleagues of the business for a day. Open House is a fictional Housing Association but with all the problems and issues of a real housing association and you will work through realistic situations that our people deal with every day.

The selection event will last around 4 hours including interview. It's fun and you get to play a board game!

We'll even give you a couple of hints on how to succeed.

       Be yourself (don't pretend to be something you are not).
       Focus on great service.
       Show us your personality.

Behaviour and attitude are equally important when recruiting for technical and management roles but in addition we will be looking to identify the other essential skills. Dependant on the role, you may be invited to a very different selection event more suited to discovering both your proven ability and future potential.

Whatever the selection event we want to know if what we have to offer meets your needs and aspirations, as well as telling us if you are the person we are looking for. Our overall aim is to take every step to ensure we attract, recruit and retain the best talent and place people into suitably challenging positions to ensure that all colleagues have the opportunity to flourish.
